I recently worked with Simply Lunch to photograph their new MADE range, a collection of sandwiches, baguettes, and croissants designed for people who want their grab-and-go lunches to taste as good as they look.
The shoot took place in Simply Lunch’s development kitchen, which allowed us to work closely with the products at their freshest. Over the course of the day, we photographed around 10 different items from the range, each with its own character and style.
For this project, I collaborated with food stylist Mandy Thompson and prop stylist Tamsin Weston. Their expertise made a real difference, ensuring that every detail, from the crispness of the salad leaves to the golden, flaky croissants, was carefully styled and ready for the camera.
Simply Lunch provided a creative brief that called for two different looks. One set of images focused on a bright, natural café style, ideal for showcasing the fresh, everyday appeal of the range. The second look introduced a moodier, richer tone, adding depth and giving the images a more indulgent feel. This approach allowed us to present the MADE range in two distinctive ways, helping the brand reach a wider audience across different marketing platforms.
One of the standout moments from the shoot was capturing the ham and cheese croissant. Getting the perfect shot of the melted, drippy cheese was a challenge, but careful lighting and timing helped us achieve that ideal, mouth-watering look. Small details like this bring life to the images and show off the quality of the ingredients.
The final set of images is clean, fresh, and inviting, designed to connect with customers and highlight Simply Lunch’s commitment to quality and craft.
